My name is Kim Ortiz, and I have the honor to serve as the Principal of this incredible school. At JRE, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of our students, one child at a time. Our decisions are driven by a commitment to address the academic, social, and emotional needs of all our students, fostering a growth mindset in a safe and nurturing environment. We aim to inspire our students to become lifelong learners today, preparing them for a successful tomorrow.

Jackman Road Elementary embraces a Professional Learning Community (PLC) approach, where all stakeholders collaborate to support student-centered learning. This ensures that every student achieves their goals. Our work in Mathematics and English Language Arts is integral to our PLC efforts, focused on meeting each student's unique needs. We also offer programs such as D.A.R.E., Reaching Higher (a leadership initiative for fifth graders), a student-led technology support team, and the SOS program—mentoring from high school students in math and reading. We offer a rich Specials program that includes Art, Music, Physical Education, and Exploratory, with a focus on STEM activities.

Community service is vital at JRE. We engage in projects such as creating items for our local animal shelter, organizing an annual canned food drive, and bringing joy to our Senior Centers and Veterans through placemats, cards, and vocal performances.

Our active PTO supports students, staff, and families by fostering a sense of community. They sponsor events like Scholastic Book Fairs, Open House, a fun tailgate for our Bedford Mules, and field trips for all grade levels. There are numerous ways for families to participate, and we encourage you to get involved.

Our mission is to support every student, and I invite you to join the JRE family. We work hard, but we also enjoy fun events, including our annual Fun Run, lip sync competitions, and holiday parties. JRE is renowned for its kindness, unity, and welcoming atmosphere. Our staff deeply cares for our students and their families.
